Why Delightful Pandemonium?

When I finally decided to be serious about starting a blog I wanted a name that would encompass the big picture of my life.  So I began to think about what that really looked like.  First off, I am a mother of soon-to-be four children all ages 5 and under. Add to that, my first child is your creative, energetic child with ADHD, which by the way she got from both of her parents! Mix in my second child who is highly sensitive with possibly some sensory processing issues. Stir in a large dose of Celiac disease and food sensitivities to the daily routine, and a pinch of other allergies. Then top it off with the life of a military family. Finally, add our two youngest little cherries on top and you have a bowl full of Delightful Pandemonium.

I did mention in that description that I myself have adult ADHD (the inattentive type, so unfortunately, with none of the hyperactivity). So let that be a warning, or an invitation, to enjoy my many interests and passions that I will write about.  It also means that I am highly distractible and may have a few rabbit trails here and there.  I will do my best to edit those out. (The wonderful part about the written world is the ability to edit. How often I wish I had that ability in my verbal life!)  Part of what I will be writing about are some challenges I am taking in my personal life to find a more balanced organized daily routine.  I am not naturally driven in these areas but they are a valuable part of creating a place called home.  Sharing this journey with you will provide some accountability for me, but I also hope that it encourages, inspires and provides a few laughs for you along the way.

You can also look forward to sections specifically focused on some of the challenges we face as a family. I hope to start a section on the craziness of cooking for a family who struggles with Celiac disease, along with several food intolerances including dairy, egg, and about 10 others.  Some of this I have become skilled at, and some of it I am just at the beginning of the learning process.  It can be overwhelming, but I know I am not alone.  So I hope I can gather together a community of mothers who are seeking out new ways to help their children and families in their health struggles. At times this will include the things we are learning about in regards to raising children with ADHD and other neurological challenges.  Another section will be devoted to our challenges as a military family and the things we have learned over the past several years.  As you can see already, my life brings lots of exciting but varying experiences to write about. I hope you enjoy the journey as we see together how this blog will grow and expand over time.  I hope to have new posts at least 2-3 times a week.  I am first and foremost a wife and mother, and it is from that wonderful life that Delightful Pandemonium is born.  Thanks for joining me on this wild and crazy ride... enjoy!
